aeTips x Saucony Matrix 'No Shoes in the House'
The storyline for this shoe brings me back to my childhood bc as soon as you walk in the house, shoes are off, & we'd always have this pile of shoes sitting by the front door. This is my first time trying the Matrix model & since Saucony is bringing it back, it only makes sense to let Jae go off on these.
Materials: starting on the toe cap, there's a soft tan suede w/ a debossed pattern & silver embroidery that runs t/o it. Then, as you move behind that, you'll find a dark ♥️, felt material (like you'd find on a 🧢 ), which pays tribute to the cws of Jae's first hat he released. As you move to the S logo, you'll find a silver panel with a squiggle pattern that runs t/o it. Transitioning to the heel, there's more of that tan suede & the word 'Savior' in 💜, followed by a raised clear bubble with his flower logo sitting in the middle. Moving up the back heel & around the laces is a soft neoprene/mesh that feels pretty comfy on foot. On the tongue, he used a dark green mesh w/ a Saucony logo on the right pair & Jae's Savior logo on the right. As for insides, you'll find Jae's globe logo, followed by his flowers on the left pair & the phrase 'coming soon' on the right. & Lastly, on the midsole, there's a light 💜/🩷 w/ translucent 💚 pods that run t/o it. Overall, I feel like he did a really nice job on these, & as of now, this is my favorite from this pack.
Comfort/Sizing: the matrix has a soft & supportive feeling on foot that doesn't require any break in time. I personally find it to be one of the more comfortable retro models Saucony has brought back as well. For sizing, I got these in my tts (US 8) and they fit perfectly, I'd recommend the same.
Overall Opinion: I feel like as the collabs roll-on between Jae & Saucony, we're beginning to get a glimpse into his past, which is realistically what a Collab should be. Each set has a purpose & is designed in a refreshing color scheme. The Matrix model in itself looks really clean on foot, but this cw feels kinda fancy lol idk why, but I really like it. These are still available at some retailers currently for those looking to cop 🫶
