Bodega x Asics Gel Kayano 20 'Friends & Family'

Following their previous design with Asics, Bodega put together a smaller & more limited project (& my personal favorite). Idk why but this pair really reminds me of a coffee dyed version of the white Kayano 20 they did in 2024 (which is ironic since they partnered w/ @nguyencoffeesupply ). No idea if that was the intention, but I personally prefer this colorway more.

Materials: starting w/ the mesh, they used the same mesh as their 🤍 pair, but this time is a greyish/brown w/ a 4 dot pattern inside of a 💠 shape that is reminiscent of a knit blanket with the little patterns t/o it. On the mudguard is a light 🩶 panel that carries t/o the majority of the panels on the upper. Beneath the paneling is an grey cage for added structure. At the end of the 💙 stripes is a GEL KAYANO 20 logo in 💙 & below it is a subtle BODEGA logo that almost blends into the upper. On the back heel is more GEL branding w/ each letter in a neon circle w/ a 🔵 border. Midway thru the back heel the mesh changes to a dark 🩶 circular patterned mesh that ends on the medial side by another set of 💙 bordered stripes. Moving to the midsole, there's a speckled 🤍/🩶 midsole with 🍏 gel pods on top of a gum bottom. & Lastly, the sockliner is a neon 🟡 hit with a wavy 💎 pattern followed by a co-branded insole. Overall, I feel like given the first pair, this compliments the pack pretty well & gives a unique spin on its predecessor.

Comfort/Sizing: the Kayano 20 is similar to the 14, but imo, more squishy & a little more forgiving from a width & length perspective. Now with that being said, go tts as well, even for the wide footers.

Overall Opinion: idk why, but this pair kinda gives me a vibe as if you dyed the white pair in coffee (oddly enough lol) this pair kinda reminds me of some old boots I wore as a kid as well with the 🩶 & 💙 hits & I'm kinda liking this pair a bit more than the white one tbh. Thank you @bodega for sending these over 🫶
